I'm sure like me, most of you are looking at your schedules and trying to figure out how to get everything done in the upcoming weeks. All the recent projects that have been assigned are starting to make my future look pretty bleak and packed. Check back with me in April, maybe then I will have resurfaced from all this craziness. It seems like every semester I find myself in a similar situation, stressed and tired of school. But somehow every semester I make it through without too many scars. Our society is so fast paced it is hard not to get caught up in it all. In moments like these it helps to just take a deep breath and smile! In the end everything will work out and we will be one step closer to our ultimate goal of becoming teachers and having our own classrooms!
In the meantime, the countdown for Spring Break has begun and I can't believe how quickly it is approaching. I look forward to that week to get away and gain back some of my sanity!

TT#3 Life Story
Experiences of a Lifetime
Ever since I can remember
Summer has been a special time
Full of adventure and memories.
From Pacific to Atlantic
I have seen the sights,
Experienced the cultures, and
Visited the museums.
I have
Explored dark, murky caves,
Braved the cold Rocky Mountain nights,
Blasted off into outer space with NASA,
Scuba dived with the exotic fish of the Caribbean, and
Screamed at the top of my lungs all the way down
Summit Plummet.
I have
Marveled at the Grand Canyon,
Starred at the big heads of our nations past presidents,
Witnessed the faithfulness of Old Faithful,
Experienced Christmas in the summer
With the lights of Vegas, and
Danced in a Hawaiian Luau.
I will never forget these special moments
And I thank my parents everyday for giving me
The experiences of a lifetime.

Voicethread
I participated in the Great Book Stories wiki. The point of this wiki is to create a voicethread about why you love a specific book and to try to convince others they should read it also. To see more information and guidelines on the Great Book Stories wiki visit http://greatbookstories.pbwiki.com/
The book I chose to share was “If You Give a Moose a Muffin” by Laura Numeroff. (click HERE to see my voicethread)

Voicethread allows discussions to extend beyond the classroom walls by capturing the voices of students and educators anytime and anywhere! To find out more information or to make your own visit http://www.voicethread.com/

A hundred years from now
it will not matter what my bank account was,
the sort of house I lived in,
or the kind of car I drove . . . .
but the world maybe different
because I was important in the life of a child.

Spring 2009
Yet another semester is underway and I cannot believe how fast it is going by. Within the first few weeks of school I started my ESL Practicum. I have been working with 4th grade students at Lee Elementary School and I absolutely love it there. My cooperating teacher is awesome and has already allowed me to teach 4 lessons. I am really becoming attached to two particular students who I have spent most of my time with. They can barely speak English so it has been interesting trying to teach them, but I love the challenge. Within the short amount of time I have been there I have already seen improvements and been surprised on multiple occasions.
Tomorrow marks another exciting milestone in my teaching career, Block B practicum orientation. Tons of thoughts are running through my head. I'm anxious to be in and experience yet another classroom environment and I can't wait to meet my cooperating teacher and her 1st grade students at Woodrow Wilson. Hopefully within the next few days I can become familiar with the school, classroom, students, and routines.... I have never been in or taught at the first grade level, so I'm excited to see what it's like.

The mediocre teacher tells.
The good teacher explains.
The superior teacher demonstrates.
The great teacher inspires.
